Ruya Terms and Conditions

These Terms explain the rules for using Ruya’s website, web app, and mobile apps (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1) Who we are
Ruya is owned and operated by Lifetoweb LTD (Company No. 09877182), Demsa Accounts 565 Green Lanes, Haringey, London, England, N8 0RL. Contact: support@ruya.co.
2) What we provide
- Main website (ruya.co): information, blog, and cookie preferences.
- Web app (web.ruya.co): your account and entries.
- Mobile apps: Ruya for Android and iOS.
- Journaling: Add Dreams, Diaries, and Life Events. This is free forever.
- AI Dream Interpretation (optional): Requires a paid subscription (with possible trial). You choose when to use it.
- Voice dictation (mobile only): Speech-to-text happens on your device. The web app does not support voice dictation.
- Scan dictation: Optional camera-based text capture using Azure AI. We do not keep the image on our servers.
3) Who can use Ruya
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age allowed by law in your country to consent to online services, you need a parent or guardian to use Ruya on your behalf.
- You must follow these Terms and all applicable laws.
4) Your account
- You can sign up with an email and password or use Apple/Google sign-in.
- Keep your login details safe. Do not share your password or account with others. One person per account.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- If you think your account is compromised, contact us immediately at support@ruya.co.
5) Your content
- Your content stays yours. This includes your Dreams, Diaries, and Life Events.
- To run the Services, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, revocable license to store, process, and display your content inside your account and to send selected content to our AI when you ask for an interpretation.
- We do not make your content public.
- If we add a sharing feature later, it will be off by default and fully controlled by you. If you choose to share, you grant us a limited license to host and show only what you choose to share, and you can stop sharing at any time.
- Do not upload content that is illegal, abusive, or violates others’ rights (including privacy and intellectual property).
6) AI interpretations
- AI interpretations are generated using Azure OpenAI when you request them.
- LLMs can be wrong. Large Language Models sometimes produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, or biased. They can “hallucinate” facts or misread context. Treat outputs as suggestions, not as statements of fact.
- No medical or mental-health advice. AI outputs and in-app content are for information, reflection, and entertainment/educational purposes only. They are not diagnosis, therapy, or professional advice, and should not be relied upon for health or safety decisions.
- Your judgment matters. Use caution and your own judgment. If you are worried about your health or wellbeing, speak to a qualified professional.
- Report harmful output: If you see content that seems unsafe, harmful, or abusive, please report it to support@ruya.co so we can review.
7) Health, safety & crisis
- Not for emergencies: Ruya is not a crisis service and cannot respond to emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, or you feel you may harm yourself or others, contact local emergency services right away.
- Wellbeing: If you are experiencing distress, consider contacting a local crisis hotline or a qualified mental-health professional in your area.
- Parental guidance: Our AI features are not intended for anyone under 13. Parents/guardians should supervise minors’ use of the Services.
8) Intended use & misuse
Use Ruya only for its real, intended purpose: journaling real dreams/diaries/life events and optionally receiving AI interpretations of what you record. You agree you will not misuse the Services. Examples of misuse include (this list is not exhaustive):
- Fabricating prompts purely to game or exploit future features (for example, submitting made-up stories to force the app to generate images or videos unrelated to your actual dream or experience).
- Using Ruya as a messaging or secret communication tool (for example, sharing passwords, covert codes, or running hidden conversations).
- Automating access or scraping the Services without permission, or using bots to create/seed content.
- Using someone else’s account or sharing your own login details to let others use paid features.
- Any illegal, abusive, or rights-infringing use, including content that violates privacy or intellectual-property rights.
9) Acceptable use (technical)
Do not do any of the following:
- Upload malware or attempt to hack, probe, or disrupt our systems.
- Reverse engineer or try to bypass technical limits or access controls.
- Send spam or use the Services to distribute unsolicited content.
10) Subscriptions, trials, and billing
- Free features: Journaling is free forever.
- Paid features: AI Dream Interpretation requires a subscription. We may offer a free or discounted trial.
- How subscriptions work: Mobile subscriptions are managed by your app store and processed via RevenueCat using an App User ID (we do not share your email with RevenueCat). Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel.
- Managing/cancelling:
- Apple: Manage in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Google Play: Manage in Play Store > Payments & subscriptions.
- Web purchases (if available): Use the “Manage subscription” option in the web app or contact us.
- Prices & taxes: Prices are shown in the app or on our website and may include taxes where required.
- Refunds:
- Apple/Google Play: Refunds are handled by the respective app store under their policies.
- Web purchases (if available): Contact us for help; eligibility depends on local law and what you used.
11) Ending your subscription or account
- Cancel subscription: You can cancel anytime in your app store or web account settings (if available). Access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Delete content: You can delete any entry; it is removed instantly and permanently from our database.
- Delete account: After deleting your entries, you can delete your account; it is removed instantly. We will also clear your RevenueCat customer record so deletion is complete.
- Where to delete: Go to your Profile page (or the Profile link in the app) to delete entries and your account.
- We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms, misuse the Services, or if required by law.
12) Service changes and availability
- We may add, change, or remove features for security, performance, or legal reasons.
- We try to keep the Services available, but we do not promise 100% uptime.
- Beta or experimental features may change quickly or be removed.
13) Third-party services
We rely on trusted providers to run Ruya (for example, Microsoft Azure for hosting and AI, Apple/Google for sign-in and app stores, and RevenueCat for subscription management). Their terms and privacy policies may also apply when you use those parts of the Services.
14) Intellectual property
- The Services, brand, software, and designs are owned by Lifetoweb LTD or our licensors and are protected by law.
- You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services as allowed by these Terms.
- Your content remains yours (see Section 5).
15) Safety, security, and data
- Use Ruya safely and keep backups of anything important to you.
- We use HTTPS and host on Microsoft Azure with strong security controls.
- See our Privacy Policy in the app or on our website for how we handle personal data, cookies, and AI processing.
16) Disclaimers
- Informational use only: AI interpretations and content are not medical, psychological, or professional advice.
- As-is: We provide the Services “as is” and “as available”. We make no promises that the Services will be error-free or uninterrupted.
17) Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Otherwise, and to the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for: (a) indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses; or (b) loss of data, profits, revenues, or business, arising from your use of the Services.
If we are legally found to be liable to you for something, our total liability to you for all claims relating to that event will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the Services in the 12 months before the issue. If you have not paid us (for example, you used only the free features), the cap is £50. Your statutory/consumer rights remain.
18) Laws and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless your local consumer laws require otherwise. You can bring disputes in your local courts where such rights exist, or in the courts of England and Wales. Before taking formal action, please try to resolve issues with us by emailing support@ruya.co.
19) Export and sanctions
You must comply with applicable export control and sanctions laws. Do not use Ruya if you are prohibited from receiving services under these laws.
20) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you (for example, by email or in-app notice). The “Last updated” date tells you when the latest version took effect. If you keep using the Services after changes, you accept the new Terms.
